VITTORIO S. LaPIRA (“Vic”) is a partner with the law firm of Fogarty & Hara. Mr. LaPira is a 1998 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center where he earned his Juris Doctorate Degree. He graduated from Boston College in 1995, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Mr. LaPira is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. After graduating from law school, Mr. LaPira practiced in the fields of commercial litigation, construction law, and employment law.

Since joining Fogarty & Hara in 2003, he has represented boards of education in all areas, including labor and employment matters, student discipline matters, special education matters and construction issues, with experience at the trial and appellate levels in both federal and state courts, as well as the Office of Administrative Law. Mr. LaPira is currently a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, American Bar Associations, Bergen County Bar Association and New Jersey Association of School Attorneys. He has also served as a Judge for the Bergen County High School Mock Trial Competition.

Mr. LaPira has given presentations on various topics for his clients as well as for the New Jersey School Boards Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Association of School Business Officials, the Hudson County Social Emotional and Character Development Consortium, and the Hunterdon County Superintendents' Association. His article, “Getting Sent to the Principal’s Office: An Overview of the Legal and Procedural Issues Governing the Discipline of Students in Public Schools,” appeared in the December 2013 issue of New Jersey Lawyer Magazine. Mr. LaPira was recently named to New Jersey’s Super Lawyers: Rising Stars list, which was published in the March 2014 issue of New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine.
